MLK-THE TRUE FASHION ICON

Martin Luther King Jr. is really a fashion icon. He possesd a classic exclusive items that will never go out of style before anyone else did. He is actually rather innovative when you think about it. He was wearing this when it was unheard at the time. At a time when many thought he looked crazy and ridiculous. Like many fashionista after him he disregarded the negative criticism about what he was walking around with and chose to believe that in the near future everyone would have on what he believed to be essential to every ensemble. And like many fashionista he new that people were stuck into the trend at the moment but a day would come that things would change.He really stood out in the fashion world because he was a black man pushing the enevlope. Telling whites that they were so last season and so tacky. Forcing them to see what they had on was just simply ugly. He new the risk of telling the whole world that what they were accustomed to was no longer cute. But he risked his life to let people know they were walking around looking a hot mess. I guess he was kinda like the Stacy London and Clinton Kelly (what not to wear) of the day. But he took that risk just to introduce people to his dream about hope and equality. He shared with everyone that the ability to see past skin color is the most beautiful thing you can posses. And racism was as ugly as a matching denim acid wash outfit. So thank you Dr. King for believing in equality, daring to dream a big dream and making hope fierce before firece even exsisted.

THE HOT MESS OF THE NIGHT (and any other time)

Let me start by saying i am the world's largest Mariah Carey fan and i love, love, love her music. But it is time for some one to have an intervention with her about her wardrobe. I think her drug of choice is skanky clothes. And she has been using for about ten years now but i am offering her a helping hand right now. Mariah is a clear case of what i call "look at me" syndrome. The symptoms are that they only feel beautiful and visible if they are half naked. They typically dont acknowledge that they are older now and thats ok. Or it can be a learned syndrome by having to many "yes men" (Nick Cannon) around them and no true friends around to say NOOOOOOOOOOO MARIAH! please dont put on another tight mini dress. So it is in my proffessional medical opinion to just ban her from going anywhere until she acknowledges that there is such a thing as too sexy and its called PORN.

Life is always full of uncertainities and unpredictable circumstances that always lead to a defining monent. Its kinda of like fashion week-you never know what to quite expect. It always waits until you are nice and comfortable before it pulls the rug from up under your feet. And its once you have fallen down and bumped your head that you are forced to make the most important decisions that will ultimatley effect your life. Although the good times are great and the good times are what people seek the most its the dark, ugly places that reveal our faith and test our weaknesses so that we can be made stronger. Things are funny that way in order to make you strong you have to weak. In order to be happy you have to be sad. Its almost like one can not exsist without the other. I guess the point is to embrace them both. But who ever really knows!

I LOVE WHAT I CANT AFFORD

        

FASHION IS A CONFUSING CONTRADICTION- so stick with me if you want to keep up!

If you have a very accentric style and love to stand out from the rest i have three words for you Patterns! Patterns! Patterns! It is important to play with patterns and this season . And for the first time in a long time it is acceptable to have on matching patterns if you know what you are doing. But please be adviced to match at your own risk. Warning please do not walk out the house in a matching jogging suit. Thats just shameful! Another great thing about pattern pairs is that they quickly become interchangable pieces and you can mix and match them with other items. Also maybe taking an extreme pattern piece and making it very casual by dressing it down with maybe a simple pair of leggings or jean. All in all patterns are here to stay and any real fashionista will be taking full advantage of them.

I call Fashion a contradiction because on one end it can be tremendously wild and then on the other end you have an equally as relevant trend that is very conservative and maybe a little more refined.  For the woman who has the effortlessly classy, sexy and polished look i have two words for you this season F-ingWhite! A nice tailored white look is super chic and is loaded with tons of hotness. The good thing about this F-ing white look is that accessories can dictate your outfit. If you want to dress it up you pair it will bold, bulky jelwry and a pair of glam-tastic shoes. And if you want to stay along of the modest and chic lines then you would pair it with a soft shoe (like a nude color sandal) and it will be fantastic as well. But whatever your choice is white is definitly right for the upcoming spring.

Thinking.....

Im always thinking of a master plan while looking glam-tastic. Thinking of ways to make myself greater and more relevant in this world.

But the funny thing about this game called life is the moment you stop thinking for a split second something unexpected falls into your life.

Its like the days you just roll out of bed and throw something on is the day you receive the most compliments. or when you just throw on an old purse you haven't worn in years everyone is amazed with it as if it was this seasons Hermes Birkin Bag. 

Every time i take a break from obsessing over life right in the middle of me exhaling something great falls into my life. And i know what you are thinking but i'm not just talking about Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring Couture collection. Which by the way was amaaaazzziinnggg!

But any who back to the subject like my good friend JP (thats whats i call him) the universe is always three seasons ahead of me. And the funny thing about the unexpected is it forces you to alter your entire thought process. Because what you have been trying to mastermind this entire time is nothing like you could ever imagine it to be. The point is for me is that i guess there is no point in always trying to device a master plan because the things you love the most come when least expected.
